| Some goodbyes are harder than others… and this one is especially bittersweet.
As we prepare to say goodbye to our first real home, we can’t help but reflect on everything this building has meant to us over the years.
This was never just four walls and a roof. It was a home filled with laughter, tears, long nights, lifelong friendships, and memories that will never fade. It was a place where strangers became friends, friends became family, and generations of volunteers dedicated themselves to serving the community we love.
Within these walls, we’ve celebrated milestones, supported one another through difficult times, and answered countless calls for help. Every room, every hallway, and every corner holds a story.
And while we are incredibly excited for what lies ahead, saying goodbye to the place where so many memories were made won’t be easy.
To our Riverhead community, THANK YOU. ❤️
Because of your incredible generosity, donations, and unwavering support, we are preparing to turn the page and begin a beautiful new chapter in the history of Riverhead Volunteer Ambulance Corps.
This is a bittersweet ending, but an even greater beginning.
❤️ And as we build our new home, we can’t help but think of two very special people who we wish could be here to see it.
Heidi Behr and William Stone, we would like to believe you’re both up there smiling down on us, watching this next chapter unfold. While we wish you could be standing here beside us, we know you are with us in spirit, every step of the way.
Your memories, your legacy, and the love you left behind will forever be a part of this ambulance family. We hope we’re making you proud. 🐸❤️
The building may change, but the heart of this organization never will. The dedication, compassion, traditions, and love for our community will follow us wherever we go.
As we prepare for this emotional transition, our crews wanted to share a little message with all of you. A message from the very people who have called this building their second home.
We aren’t quite ready to say goodbye just yet… but when that day comes, we know it won’t be easy.
Same mission. Same dedication. Same ambulance family. Just a new place to call home. 🚑❤️
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for helping us honor our past while building our future.
Once our home. Forever a part of our hearts. ❤️ |
